  • Malderane, The Dark One | Adventures Of Phox

Malderane, the Dark One, is an evil being within the Adventures of Phox universe. Malderane, the Dark One Below is a total account of the actions of Malderane, the Dark One known to humanity of the present day. Read with caution. Malderane was a self-proclaimed deity that lived from the start of written records in the Dawning Era to the end of the Golden Era . His last mention was in the Malkatech in an event known as the sacking of Vancoura in the year 10485 Ge . Most modern historians believe Malderane to be dead, but his spirit to still capable of manipulating the physical realms. There is also an indication from writing that there was more than one of his kind. The Dark One had many servants that were lesser than him, but still immortal beings. Malderane's Philosophy In his own words, Malderane deems humans and all other sentient races, as inferior fragments of a failed design. His charter of "Immortality by Death" states that all living souls should succumb to his will and allow him to manifest himself within themselves to secure true happiness and life. Malderane's teachings are still practiced in a form called the "Mazzacarian Rite". Mazzacarian cultists still prosper in the form of extremism on outskirt worlds. Mazzacarians try to shape world politics with violence and convert new members to their views through fear and intimidation. Some resonate freely due to the self-centered nature of Malderane's teachings and the amount Mazzacarian rite excuses vices. Self-worship is also a key to becoming one with Malderane, and mental dysfunction is taught in Malderane's writings as being defaults of Magnum Auctor . The chosen ones of Malderane's cults claim that anyone who fully accepts the Dark One will be free of disease and ailments. An Artistic Representation of Malderane in his human form during his Reign. Malderane during the Dawning Era The Dawning Era was captured in writing from the Malketech as being tumultuous for man and other Sentient races. Below, it is written in somewhat abstract text the history of Malderane through the first era of time. Be mindful that ancient humans, and other sentients, did not know Malderane's real name. He was referred to as "The Keeper" or "Dark One." "The Keeper was destined to guide man through the mortal life into the spiritual. His perch was the highest of all the mountains, none was away from his sight. All sentient beings admired his grandeur, and respect was given to him and his master Magnum Auctor. Due to the passage of time and the rise of the Chyme Lords, many would begin to lose the memory of the one perched on the mountain. The supposed keeper of the sentient races failed to act and allowed heresies and ill deeds to progress. Until in the darkest hour of the night before the dawn, a thunderous clap of lightning announced his betrayal. For a messenger from Magnum Auctor smote the Dark One and condemned him to be forever banned from his master's house. Revelation from this spectacle gave the innocent lives warning, and they were able to hide in caverns deep. The Dark One consumed all the nonbelievers. And with diseases, he blighted the lifespans of all mortal beings." The written text continues to state that Malderane designed terrible constructs to house those he deemed too intelligent to make them mortal but through eternal torment. As mentioned in the article dedicated to the Malderane Era, he forced all of sentient life into colonies maxing at 5,000 lives. No more were allowed less they be culled out in the form of sacrifice. Examples of modern Mazzacarians harassing Phox an Sparky. This behavior is greatly frowned upon as well as the other cult-like actions Mazzacarians indulge in. Malderane's Era, a Reign of Terror Malderane's reign is summarised under the Malderane Era. The worst affronts would be brought about against all mortal life during this period. Even nature would be under constant assault by the Dark One's desire to transform the entire universe into his abode. Constantly, he would twist his own words to trap those oppressed by him and kill as many sentient beings as he could. Malderane made false humans to replace the originals that would forever be loyal to him and share his fallen nature. But, none could reproduce and their numbers would never grow. Malderane made a point to set up his throne on Vancoura in the ruins of his once glorious palace to lord over the land. Due to his betrayal of Magnum Auctor, his domain had turned into a black void not capable of holding beauty. From his tormented dome, he would grow his malice and torment the whole world that was the home of humanity. There were groups of sentient mortals Malderane would grant gifts, ones that would give him the full honor that he demanded and allow him to manifest inside their bodies. These humans and other races were greatly feared amongst the oppressed. A depiction of what one of the false men of Malderane looked like. They would clad themselves fully with no means to determine what their actual appearance would be. • Sacking of Vancoura | Adventures Of Phox

Sacking of Vancoura was the start of the Current Era and the collapse of the Golden Era. Sacking of Vancoura The sacking of Vancoura, also known as the fall of the Golden Era , occurred in the year 10,485 CE . Since Vancoura was the throne city of the Patriarchy of humanity, the metro was the epicenter of violence when Malderane committed to his betrayal of all that was good. The number of lives lost is unknown. A 10-year census of the city was recovered in the ancient ruins of the "Hall of Man " dating back to the year 10,400 Ge stating the number of inhabitants to be around 80 million. The current census conducted within the last decade is less than half of that amount tallying a total of 37.2 Million residents. Displaced and defiled, Vancoura lost the majority of its inhabitants making it descend into great ruin. The magnificence of its many wonders is still being discovered to this day in excavation sites near the interior portions. Aftermath In the months after the initial war broke out amongst the Zebratarians and human races that were allied with each faction, many sought shelter in the naturally formed caves in the Torpea mountains east of Vancoura. The Spire, the tallest structure ever built, retreated deep beneath the city as the Zebratarians left. After its retraction, large portions of the city's underground networks collapsed. Even still, to this day, modern Vancourians can use the expansive transit system that connects all portions of the city with one another underground. The capital of the Antonian sits near the old site of the Spire. The central transit hub stands near its predecessor, the Hall of Man. Archeologists continue to find clues that piece together the rich history of the Antonian capital in this area. The ancient space port was somewhat left intact from the savage destruction of Ancient Vancoura. As civilization began to recover, the city once again became the center for interstellar travel. Pictured above is a map of present day Vancoura, the Capital district. The orange highlights the area of the capital buildings. shown in green is the Transit hub Center. The large grey area near the Transit Hub is the old archelogical site where the Hall of Man once stood.

  • The Malkatech Tablets | Adventures Of Phox

The Malkatech Tablets refer to ancient text that revealed much lost history within the adventures of Phox universe. The Malkatech Tablets The Malkatech tablets are a series of ancient texts that preserve the ancient eras of history. Within their text, scientists and modern historians were able to solve numerous mysteries that were previously elusive. Numbering over 1,200 stone tablets, the Malkatech covers ancient legend, medicine, economic analogs, scientific knowledge, and lost techniques of space travel. Many aspects of modern technology and medicine were shaped after the discovery of the Tablets in the year 14,820 Ce . Discovery Current Era Archaeologists had a general idea that there was some kind of vast documentation of the ancient world. The method of documentation was unknown at the time, until investigations led to a potential location of such writings. During the excavation of the ancient Vancouran sites inside the Golden Era metro, archaeologists discovered the foundation of the Hall of Man. The tablets were wrapped in tea cloth at first and nearly archived as rolls of fabric. It is believed to have been disguised to prevent its destruction at the hands of Malderane's followers during the Sacking of Vancoura. Upon further study, it became clear they were tablets of text written in polished stone. Artificial intelligence speedily translated the ancient writings, allowing exuberant amounts of discoveries to be made within a short period. Scientists tested many of the discoveries to find that the written analogs were real and could be replicated in the modern era. More solemn historical discoveries within the text were ancient scholars' testimony to the wicked deeds of Malderane , the fall of the Golden Empire , and life under the Malderane Era . Some elements of the Malkatech are hidden to protect it from ancient treasures being plundered. Or, the vast war graves of the Golden Era from being desecrated by archaeologists. Some argue that the G.A hides key tablets to give their military an edge over its' adversaries, protecting long-lost war weapons from falling into the wrong hands. Scientific Impacts After reviewing the contents of the tablets, key sections of the stone book gave a great, detailed analysis of the functions of the Zebratarian Golden Empire . With this knowledge, Scientists were able to apply groundbreaking methods that were lost in the fall of the Golden Era . The biggest of these breakthroughs was the ability to create short-distance portals. Power stations were made safer and more powerful. Intergalactic trade was made more efficient. Construction was revolutionized and streamlined. Numerous diseases were eradicated from humans and other sentient races. Artificial intelligence was able to become even more sentient, and robots saw new leaps and bounds never recorded in the Current Era. Historical Discoveries Within the Malkatech's writings, mysteries were unraveled and the truth laid bare. Many texts explained the history behind Malderane's potential origins, the reasoning for the appearance of Zebratarians , and the fate of the majestic and magical beings. Some tablets also expound on the Chyme Lords and confirm that they were indeed the first humans. The writings date back as far as testimonies from the Malderane Era and as recent as the last decades of the Golden Era . The final two tablets are notably written with less precision. And the tablets themselves are not polished or decorated, as in the previous installments. The final paragraph of the Malkatech showcases the human will to survive. It's the words of a dying scribe stating that his last action would be securing the Malkatech and protecting it from the Mazzacarians. He acknowledges that he is the last one to write in the ancient tablets. And he beckons to the future, stating: "May the actions of men from ages past yield fruit for the future of our race. For this, I give my life, and close out my final prayer to see to it that this may be done and secure hope for all of mankind. Charish this treasure, man of a different era. If your eyes behold the beginning and the end of the Malkatech, know that all you do understand will be made clear. "

  • Magnam Auctor | Adventures Of Phox

Mangum Auctor is the God figure in the comic Adventures of Phox. Click here to learn more about him! Magnum Auctor, Author of Existence Magnum Auctor ( Great Author) is the founder of time and physical being. He stands as the beacon of all moral standing and hope. Translated from The Malkatech Tablets , it is believed that Magnum Auctor gave Malderane, the Dark One, dominion over the sentient realms. He, however, betrayed his trust and Will to seek out his own gains. To foil his demented endeavors, The Great Author sent forth his guardians, the Zebratarians . Taking on still majestic but less terrifying forms, he told his warriors to go forth and bring peace to all the mortal lands. Magnum Auctor became known as the creator of all existence through his Zebratarians. All who stayed true to his teachings were saved in the afterlife. Many attempt to say that this is not true because suffering exists; however, due to the fall of the first men and Malderane himself, the world is dying. He taught that the soul is what matters, and not to let mortal time blind its goals. Magnum Auctor is still worshiped by the majority of humans even in the Current Era as the true author of all beings. Even some non-human sentient races have recently begun to accept him as the true creator. The Malkatech: Legends of the Dawn of Time It is written in the Malkatech Tablets that Magnum Auctor brought into the physical plane creatures of sentient minds. A cosmos of stars, worlds, and many wonders, the Great Author made all. In His creation, he made various physical beings and nonphysical beings. The physical beings he gave dominion over all land. Man was introduced to their home world. Serekans, Sugellee, DeSa, Torkas, all dwelt happily in the physical realms. The nonphysical beings were given dominion over the great voids between worlds and tasked with shepherding the multitudes of mortals. The most notable of these servants was the Mazzacarian. Tall, majestic human-like beings of pure light. The head of their ranks was Malderane , known in the Dawning Era as "The Keeper." He was sent to serve humanity and guide them through mortal life to the spiritual. By his greatness, many came to honor him and his master, Magnum Auctor. The details of what happened next in the chronicles of time are somewhat abstract. Summarized below is the most updated adaptation from the Malkatech . "Perched on a mountain top so high, the Keeper of Man would shepherd the Great Author's sheep. Bathed in glory, the servant became more a king than a helper. Man, curious by nature of the newness of the world around him, began to venture into elements not meant for his kind. Unstopped by the Keeper on the mountain, Magnum Auctor sent signs directing the course to be changed. 'Bring my people home,' he would cry out to the Keeper on the mountain. Clouded by glory, the Keeper would heed the messenger not. Then, amid the first age of time, the first man poisoned himself with power, discovering the pools of Chyme . Man was distancing himself from his true purpose. And the Keeper on the mountain idled by. Instead of intervening, he meddled, controlling humanity from the shadows and any other sentient race caught in the flurry of corruption. His arrogance blinded him to judgment. Magnum Auctor's messenger was seen by holy men and women, going to the gates of the mountain. But the Keeper would not pay him attention. Three times it is written that a messenger went to the Mazzacarian's hall atop the mountain. But neither of the vital moments did the Keeper let him in. As decades passed and Magnum Auctor's patience drew on, the Mazzacarian prince's list of grievances towards the Great Author came to a climax. Humanity was being swayed to harbor animosity towards other sentient races. Wars spread. The humans, now led by Ungar , began to worship false idols. Magnum Auctor's sorrow grew into rage, and He Himself came to the physical realm. During the darkest hour of the night, during the waxing crescent phase of the moon, the sky came alive with light. A figure so radiant stood before the Keeper's house that the pure light sent the whole palace of the Mazzacarians into a multitude of debris. Choosing His timing with the phase of the moon, Magnum Auctor made it clear that a new era was born. Catapulted towards space, the darkness hid the Mazzacarians. Shame punished them. Shock of judgment made the Keeper wither. Magnum Auctor sought to save humanity from its fallen state. Through His servant, the Mazzacarian, the Great Author would protect his faithful. By the great spectacle on the mountain, all those who remained faithful to Magnum Auctor knew what they had witnessed. But to the Chyme Lords and other corrupted men, they excused the mystical site as nothing more than a natural occurrence. Some blasphemed Magnum Auctor, saying that He fell on his own instrument of creation and provided them with more Chyme in 'death'. But it was during the waning crescent of the following week that vengeance was taken on those soured by ill works and wicked minds. The Keeper returned bathed in horror. Banned from residing in his former house on the mountain, the Mazzacarian became enraged and defied all natural order. He slaughtered those he had corrupted, reaping what he had sown. The Keeper chose this phase of the moon to counter Magnum Auctor's choice. The Waning Crescent, now, was his symbol that an Era was dying. Only the men and sentient beings who hid from his gore and prayed to Magnum Auctor were spared." It is described that Malderane "Appeared in the house of Ungar like a plague. His voice mustered the venom of death itself, and none were spared from its call. All light was gone from him, and all light he consumed in the darkness of his malice. Contempt and hatred were shown to the Chyme Lords, and once they succumbed to his will, he spared not even the children of the neighboring houses. The high and lowly were all equally reduced to animals by unholy acts of butchery. Man was now reigned by a demon, a fallen Angel who forsook everything for temporary pleasures. In a world where mortals live and die, the immortal Intellect sold his birthright, given by Mangum Auctor, to be like the mortals." It is written by the same author, in the Malkatech , that the faithful lived their lives and were reunited with Mangum Auctor in his halls of Glory. The descendants of the men and sentient beings that fell for the temporal pleasures, put forth by Malderane, are the races present today."
